A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive addresses under the exact same domain name. For instance, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be redirected to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
If you have a Linux web hosting with us and you’d like to enable the catch-all option for a certain e-mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it’ll take literally just a single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can pick one single address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all messages sent to misspelled email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning notice and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server package that we offer will permit you to create a catch-all email mailbox without any effort even in case you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you have created with your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will let you know if you’ve already created another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you do not need this feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
